Sephora Summer Surge Beauty Insider VIB Rouge Event

Back to regular scheduled programming!

There was an event at Sephora this evening. The event took place from 7-9pm and the store was opened only for VIB Rouge members and one guest.

This event is the second Rouge event I have attended. The Sephora I visited both times is on the smaller side, definitely not on the same scale as say the one at the Eaton Centre. I arrived 5 minutes before the start of the event. As you can see a small line had already formed.

At the front of the line they checked off our names from the guest list and promptly let us into the store. As we walked in we were instructed to head over to a table to get nametags. I definitely enjoyed how exclusive this event was. It felt good that we were getting some special treatment especially after spending countless dollars and hours at this place. Below are some pictures from the event.

Here’s what I got at the event:
  • Purchased: Nude Skincare set containing: Perfect Cleansing Oil Face & Eyes, ProGenius Treatment Oil and Cellular Renewal Moisturizer.
  •  BI 100 Point Perk: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highlinger Gel Eye Crayon in Brown(Out)
  • Cosmetic bag with samples*: Escada Born in Paradise perfume, Clinique High Impact Mascara, Buxom Lash Mascara, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment, Benefit Watt’s Up highlighter, Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm, Make Up For Ever High Definition Blush in 410, Philosophy Hope in a Jar moisturizer
  • VIB Lip Love Sample Bag*: Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Lock Moisture Balm, Givenchy Le Rouge in 304 Mandarine Boléro, Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in 69, Rush, Streak, and Liar, Yves Saint Laurent Gloss Volupté in 19 Rose Orfèvre, 49 Terriblement Fuchsia, and 204 Corail Trapèze
  • Samples handed out: Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto and L’Homme, Ralph Lauren Big Pony Collection #2
  • Checkout sample: Living Proof Prime Style Extender Spray
  • VIB Requalification: Formula X Nail Polish in X Rouge
*Available with $50 purchase

I have to say I am a little bit disappointed with this event. Even though there were people walking around handing out perfume samples they did not have any brand representatives like they did at the events that took place at the US stores. I would’ve loved to talk to someone and possibly receive some samples from skincare brands that I’ve never tried before. I also found the $50 spending requirement in order to receive the bag filled with samples a little steep since we already paid much higher prices in Canada. Overall, there are some improvements Sephora can make to these events but I do think it’s nice that Sephora holds such events for their loyal customers. Anyways, since I just requalified for VIB Rouge, I’ll just have to wait and see what they have in store for us in the upcoming months.
